A Journey toward Self-Discovery
Who am I? Throughout the history of time, this is a question that has been asked by all people. Man has an insatiable curiosity to come to know who they are and why they are on this great planet. As a matter of fact, every single person in the world is very unique.
It has been said that all people must make an inward journey at some point in their lives to come to an understanding of their true Self. I am currently on such a journey. The path is winding and rocky, but to be human is to follow that path, which will lead me to my Self.
In order to discuss this journey to the center of my Self, it will be necessary to consider the ways in which I have tried to make this journey possible. First of all, over the past year I have met several new people and experienced intimacy with them. Through these experiences, I have learned many important things, such as that some people strive to live in their own morality and that all people want to be in a committed monogamous relationship. Next, I have begun to chronicle my journey here in this blog, and from this it has become evident that I must express my Self in order to share the wisdom I have gotten on my journey with others.
But the most important thing that I have learned on this journey is that Self-Discovery, in whatever form it takes and for whatever reason, is very closely related to another term related to the Self: Self-Absorption. Very many people think that Self-Absorption is negative while Self-Discovery is positive. These people are wrong. Self-Absorption, to be absorbed by all of one's thoughts, activities, and ideas, makes it possible for all people to see themselves from many different angles. Self-Absorption is, in fact, more important than the journey toward one's true Self, because when one is absorbed in oneself, they actually are themselves in the moment.
In conclusion, my journey toward Discovering my Self is only enhanced by my Self-Absorption. A desire to know oneself is universal for all people, and I am coming to know myself by having the courage to make this journey inward into the depths of my soul.
[I wish that I could go on, but as inspired as I am by student writing....]

Nice insights! Self-discovery is such an interesting journey - I am writing a book myself. And thanks to your insights - I`d like to call my book as a guide to self discovery instead. As for me, self-discovery is a continous epic - we have a lot to know ablout ourselves and our purpose, but taking them one portion at a time makes it easier. God bless you in your journey!
